Why do I do Hebalife?

I get lots of people criticizing me for doing Herbalife. People have even accused me of being a part of a colt and have questioned whether it is healthy for me to follow a nutrition program at all, especially post anorexia. I don't blame these people one little bit as I know its just because they don't understand what Herbalife actually is and they have not had the privilege of experiencing our incredible and uplifting community. This is a post I wrote and posted to our Local Nutrition Hub this morning and I thought I would share it with you all too. I am not quite brave enough to share it with all of my family and friends yet on my facebook wall, as I still worry that they wont fully understand, but one day I would like to share my true Herbalife results with everyone and hopefully inspire everyone to do something that allows them to accept themselves as I am now able to do!

For a while now I have been wanting to share my 'true' Herbalife results with others, but I haven't been quite brave enough to do that. Today however I am going to take the first step and share my results with all of you wonderful people.
Before Herbalife (bottom left picture) I had managed to restore a healthy weight after my eating disorder (top left picture) however I wasn't mentally recovered. I was still having to fight my anorexic thoughts daily and I didn't accept my body the way it was at all.
Now however I feel like a different person! It is only now that I have finally developed a healthy relationship with food, as well as with myself and that is only thanks to Herbalife and my wonderful coach Phoebe Outtram who not only introduced me to Herbalife, but also personal development, self love and self belief!
For the first time ever I now consider myself to be fully recovered from my eating disorder and that is something I never thought would happen . I am so much fitter, healthier and stronger now and my mental state is the best it has ever been!

  1. I can understand your reluctance to share your "discovery" of Herbalife. It does still seem to me that you have merely swapped one form of restrictive habitual eating for another. If you were truly recovered you wouldn't need a crutch like this and you would achieve full recovery from a normal, balanced diet containing all food groups.
This is just my opinion. Ask yourself - are you capable of eating any food you fancy and eating intuitively? Or do you still find comfort in eating according to a plan such as you are on?
    Recovered? I beg to differ.

    1. I do eat the food I want, and I also eat a good balance of all the food groups. I have not replaced food with products, I have just incorporated delicious smoothies into my diet and have added some supplements in too. If you saw me eat, you would realize there inst anything restrictive about my diet haha! I just swap out snacks for nutritional smoothies sometimes and use our sports range before, during and after workouts to maximize my results! I still go out for meals with my family and order whatever I feel like off of the menu, eat chocolate and eat extra if I am still Hungry after my meal. I dont eat the same thing everyday, The only thing that stays constant is that I have at least 1 shake a day. Everything else I just do according to how I am feeling. I am recovered and for you to say any different really is not a fair judgement call based on the simple fact you know nothing about me and my relationship with food :)

  2. Ok. I understand it better now. If you had explained all this and written something like this along with all the information about your useage of Herbalife it would have come across better. Thankyou for taking the time to expand on just how you use this product.
It is good that you have found something that makes you feel happy and healthy. I am sorry that I misconstrued what you wrote and I wish you every success.

  3. Yay! Good on you!! I'm starting Herbalife today. I have been weight restored for nearly a year, but my diet left me lethargic and I am still having problems with hair loss and dry skin. I know how you feel and my family were also cautious about me starting the program but I think as long as it is used as a supplement rather than meal replacements it can be very beneficial for health. There's a difference between restrictive eating and wanting to nourish your body properly :) I would say as long as you're happy and aren't scared to eat the odd slice of cake or chocolate, there's nothing wrong with what you're doing.
Good job on your recovery so far, you seem to be doing excellently.

(Have you tried the herbalife protein bars?? I'm not sure if I want to invest in buying them yet if they aren't any good haha)
